Customers frequently praise the attentive and warm staff who enhance the dining experience—checking in regularly to ensure satisfaction and create a welcoming atmosphere. Guests like Beyza Akk have highlighted the exceptional flavors and the “amazingly delicious” sourdough bread that accompanies many dishes. Others rave about standout dishes like the octopus and chicken, contributing to the spot’s well-earned reputation for culinary excellence and attentive service.
While most reviews reflect a consistently positive experience, it’s worth noting that one guest encountered a disappointing moment related to service that felt exclusionary. Transparency matters, and this observation reminds us that great restaurants continually strive to create an inclusive environment where every guest feels valued.
In summary, Cafe Colette in Williamsburg is more than just a restaurant — it’s a thoughtfully curated experience that combines exceptional American cuisine, superb drinks, and a cozy yet refined atmosphere. Ideal for everything from a laid-back brunch to a lively evening with friends, it stands out as a destination where both food and ambiance leave a lasting impression.
Charming and quiet spot in Wburg! HH deal is great for the oysters and drinks! The chicken and the octopus were standout dishes. The grilled hake fillet was just okay, a bit rubbery. Although we didn’t get the fries, they looked great!
Café Colette is such a gem. They have a great oyster special during the week that’s definitely worth it, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. The vibe is cozy and stylish, which makes it a perfect spot to unwind after work or catch up with friends.
My friend and I came in for Thanksgiving brunch. The host greeted the white couple in front of us and completely ignored my friend and I so eventually we sat ourselves at the bar. The host also doubled as the barista and it seems as if she intentionally also did not make my chai latte while making every other ticket. Besides that weirdness to the only black people in the establishment; the food was great and the bartender was super pleasant and attentive.
We had brunch here with a short wait. The potato side dish was delicious, and the grilled cheese was also spot on. I really loved the vibe created by the large windows—such a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Definitely a great spot for a relaxed meal. Great neighborhood as well.
We spent around $100 for 2 people and totally worth the experience. Everything was so delicious and stuff were kind enough to make us feel happy. They kept asking how’s the food and if there’s anything we need etc I’d highly recommend Burger, fava dip, and octopus. The sourdough bread they use is also AMAZINGLY delicious. I feel so bad that I didn’t ask where they got the bread:(
We have been to Colette several times, usually during the week early when they open. We went recently on a Saturday and the food was just as delicious with great service. We ate outdoors and enjoyed the nice weather in Williamsburg. The hash and eggs are never a disappointment. We also like the fact that we are able to get the eggs poached and switch out the hash brown patty triangles for the fries. Either one is delicious! The coffee and Irish coffee is amazing as well. Other standouts are the breakfast tacos, burger and French toast. Our server also suggested a slice of chocolate cake with my coffee which was fantastic. Cannot wait to go again!
Came here for a light dinner date with my partner, and we ended up mainly ordering the seafood. The grilled octopus was amazing! Not a big portion, but very tasty. The mussells were perfectly cooked as well. Couldn't get enough of that sauce!
